FARMING TYPES:
Could you be a bit more specific about what notes you need??? Do you just definitions of different farming types? Here are some:
Commercial Farming - farming in which crops are grown to sell for cash (i.e. make a profit)
Subsistence Farming - where just sufficient is grown to feed the farmers family
Arable Farming - the growing of crops
Pastoral Farming - the rearing of animals
Shifting (nomadic) - where farmers move from one area to another (i.e. shifting cultivation)
Sedentary - where farming is settled and permanent
Market Gardening - production of products such as fruit, flowers and vegetables as cash crops
Intensive - where the farm is small in comparison with the numbers working there / amount of money spent on it.
Extensive - where the farm is very large in comparison with the inputs and numbers working on it.
Is this what you mean?? Please let me know if you need anything else. You should have detail in your class notes - but if you need anything specific let me know.
