 TRAVEL AND TOURISM NEW YORK STUDY TOUR 2006 The Travel and Tourism department is delighted to announce a forthcoming visit to New York. The four day study tour has been developed in conjunction with Kuoni UK Connections and is aimed to integrate with and enhance student understanding of the travel and tourism industry. During the visit the focus will be on :-
- how New York manages and markets its tourist facilities;
- customer service;
- health, safety and security issues.
Students will have an opportunity to attend talks by leading tourist authorities as well as carrying out work related survey work. The visit will also include:-
- A ‘ Rolling Seminar’ which is a four hour, fully guided, sightseeing tour of many of New York’s major tourist attractions
- An opportunity to visit the Empire State Building; take a boat trip to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, visit Time Square, Ground Zero, Central Park and much more.
- A visit to New York University - Preston Robert Tisch Centre for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management.
