Kenya is an LEDC located in central eastern Africa. It is situated directly on the equator which has a significant influence over its climate and vegetation. Within Kenya there are a variety of landscapes, from mountains to vast lakes, from open grass plains to the sandy beaches off of the Indian ocean. It is these distinctive landscapes, as well as the amazing wildlife which makes Kenya popular with tourists. This unit aims to study the problems and benefits that tourism brings in Kenya and ways in which this tourism can be made more sustainable. You will also be studying the lifestyles of the Maasai tribe and considering how these traditional lifestyles have begun to change with the influence of tourism.
