Kenya
is an LEDC located in central eastern Africa. It is situated directly on
the equator which has a significant influence over its climate and
vegetation. Within Kenya there are a variety of landscapes, from mountains
to vast lakes, from open grass plains to the sandy beaches off of the
Indian ocean. It is these distinctive landscapes, as well as the amazing
wildlife which makes Kenya popular with tourists. This unit aims to study
the problems and benefits that tourism brings in Kenya and ways in which
this tourism can be made more sustainable. You will also be studying the
lifestyles of the Maasai tribe and considering how these traditional
lifestyles have begun to change with the influence of tourism.
