Egypt, is an LEDC situated in Northern Africa. Most of Egypt is actually
desert, however, the River Nile gives life to the country. The water
provided by the River is essential to supporting daily life and 96 out of
every 100 Egyptians live within a few km of the Nile. This unit aims to
explore the physical geography of Egypt, looking at its influence on the
lives of those that live there. You will also have the opportunity to
investigate some of the problems that have resulted from a high
concentration of people living in Cairo, the countries capital. Finally
you will be looking at the way in which man has sought to control the
River Nile to reduce flooding problems and to provide water all year
round. |
